About Us

It all started at the Salmon House in Marina Village one fateful night in 1992... that's where I fell deep into the rabbit hole of the San Diego underground scene. Every Wednesday night 5 rooms packed with kids from SDSU, bouncing from room to room getting down to House, Techno, Acid Jazz, Jungle, and disco grooves of Polyester and The Funky White Boyz. Outside a kid gave me a flyer for an after-hours party with just a phone number. Puzzled I had a choice to make.... take the Blue pill and trash it...... or take the Red pill and find a pay phone.

So, I followed the White Rabbit to an old warehouse off Morena Boulevard. Nothing but a dirty parking lot littered with funky cars and a noisy generator outside hid what lie behind the magic door... a freeform party without rules where only imagination, kindness, and one human tribe lived.

Next thing you know, I was trapped in a tasty labyrinth of downtown after-hours loft parties, weekly Smile nights at Ole Madrid, smooth Acid Jazz vibes and even cooler venues in La Jolla, sensory overload in PB off Garnet, massive crowds off Sports Arena Boulevard, intimate gatherings in Mission Valley, daring Midnight Massive's on Otay Mesa, pop-up party's under bridges in National City, vacant warehouse madness in the South Bay, East San Diego Auto Shop all-nighters, underground parking lot caverns of craziness, even Jack Murphy Stadium party's with all four corkscrew carrousels bathed in raver lasers.

Then it was all a dream within a dream of massive events with as many as 10,000 ravers at the Long Beach Civic Center rocking indoor carnival rides, LA super parties with 3 story slides and crazy huge visuals, Krusty's 1 & 2 both inside gigantic circus tents with full on trapeze flyers, jugglers, magicians, and wonder.

San Diego jumped in the game with outdoor mania at Narnia, followed up by camping chaos at Los Coyotes Indian Reservation for Narnia 2, miles of traffic leading to mega adventures of funhouse frenzy and carnival rides at Wild Kingdom in Valley Center, and hometown hero promoters Playskool bringing monster mainstream peace parties like Howl Arena to the Sports Arena.
